# Current Project Status

CAREC is building the engineering foundation for the complete manual, assisted, and autonomous wheelchair platform.

## Active priorities

* Finalize modes, command arbitration, safety supervision, and drive-interface contracts
* Select and publish the shared simulation baseline
* Build wheelchair dynamics, accessible worlds, sensors, and safety scenarios
* Organize remote contributor work packages
* Establish requirements, traceability, logging, review, and Go/No-Go processes
* Benchmark candidate sensing and compute options
* Preserve the SenseCAP work as an isolated collision-warning feature prototype
